Flown In Space JacketAttached to each of our exclusive "Flown in Space" jackets is a square of parachute that flew as a component of the Soyuz TMA-4 descent module. Launched April 19, 2004 from the Baikonur Cosmodrome, TMA-4 delivered the Expedition 9 crew (American astronaut Mike Fincke and Russian cosmonaut Gennadi Padalka) and ESA astronaut Andre Kuipers to the International Space Station. More than six months later, this swatch - along with Fincke, Padalka and Russian cosmonaut Yuri Shargin - returned to Earth, in large part due to the successful deployment of the main landing parachute. Certified by Alexander Poleschuk, former cosmonaut and head of Soyuz recovery operations for RSC Energia. Each jacket ships with an authentically signed certificate of authenticity. Intended for spring/fall use, the jacket features a polycotton poplin construction, metal zipper pull, comfortable elastic bottom and cuffs, storm flap, standup collar, mesh lining, self locking pockets, and inside zip pocket. Color: Black Availability: Usually ships within one business day. Sizes large and medium are currently out of stock. |
