The Hubble Space Telescope was first serviced by the crew of Endeavour on mission STS-61, followed by return visits to upgrade the orbiting observatory by Discovery on STS-82 and by Endeavour on STS-103. From 1994 to 1998, the Space Shuttle made 11 flights to the Russian Space Station Mir, including nine dockings (STS-71, 74, 76, 79, 81, 84, 86, 89 & 91). John Glenn returned to space aboard STS-95 / Discovery in 1998, and that same year on STS-88, assembly of the International Space Station began. STS-92 marked the 100th mission of the Space Shuttle program.
